Haikus About Climbing
April 17th is International Haiku Day. A Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry that is made up of seventeen syllables over only three lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second has 7 syllables, and the third has 5. To celebrate International Haiku Day, we asked our employees to write their own haikus about climbing!
High above the trees
I can see out far and wide
Hard to beat this view
Swing on winter’s grip
Icy shards on nose did nip
Point firm else you slip
Climbing up so high
My arms are pumped and hands sore
Scary but awesome
Land full of chasms
Cypher gear to the rescue
Good fun made for all
Climb seven pitches
Release yuck! to my brinches
Satisfy itches!

Ground far below. People - ants
march and drive nowhere.
